Sign-in

Microsoft 365 on hosted desks, Active Directory on-prem, preferred-auth toggle - no desk picker on the login form.

Sign-in page

Open /login on your desk or on lifecycle.lol. The page shows Sign in with Microsoft when Entra is preferred or available, and Username / Password when On-prem AD (or demo) applies.

There is no IT / HR / FIN / DEV picker on the login form. Desk choice happens after you are signed in.

Preferred sign-in

Public *.lifecycle.lol and Vercel hosts use a generic Sign in with Microsoft path (Lifecycle’s multi-tenant app). Users do not register or link their own Entra app under Settings to log in.

In Settings → Connections, Preferred sign-in chooses Microsoft 365 / Entra or On-prem AD for on-prem desks only. If the preferred path fails, the other directory can still appear when it is configured.

Passwords never go in the URL. Sign-in posts credentials over HTTPS; Lifecycle strips password-like query parameters if they appear.

After sign-in

If you have more than one desk role, Lifecycle shows the desk chooser: Lifecycle mark plus IT, HR, and FIN (plus DEV only for Lifecycle developers). Pick a desk to continue.

Single-role accounts go straight to their home - IT to the queue, HR to the HR queue. With no desk role yet, the desk asks an IT Admin to grant access under Settings → Access.

On the marketing host after Microsoft sign-in with a company domain, you may land on /instances to open, request, or create a company desk - see Instances and invites.

Common pitfalls

Microsoft sign-in failures usually mean the Entra app Web redirect URI or admin consent under Settings → Connections → Entra.

Personal email domains cannot open a shared company instance list - use a company Microsoft account. Domain errors on create mean the email domain is not eligible for a shared desk.
