What Lifecycle is
An IT/HR desk for employee lifecycle tickets, inventory, shipping, and runbooks - one named instance per company desk.
What it does
Lifecycle tracks the IT and HR work around a hire, a change, an offboard, and equipment return. HR opens tickets; IT works stages on one ticket; inventory, shipping, instructions, and server / service-account runbooks stay in the desk.
Finance (FIN) holds dollar costs and justifications. Dev is for Lifecycle platform developers who manage hosts and join tokens, not day-to-day ticket work. Customer IT/HR/Finance staff do not see the Dev tab.
Instances and hosts
Each desk runs as a named instance (for example demo.lifecycle.lol on this host, or contoso.lifecycle.lol for a company). The apex site lifecycle.lol is where you name or create instances; staff open their instance hostname for the desk.
End users who are not desk staff use the portal (portal.lifecycle.lol, or /portal on a desk host) via emailed links for transfers and replacements, not the full IT/HR chrome.
Roles
Roles are desk-scoped: IT Queue, HR Desk, and Finance (IT admins). Dev is reserved for Lifecycle developers and is hidden from customer staff. Access is granted under Settings → Access. With no desk role yet, the desk asks an IT Admin to grant access.
